February 14 was a special day for The Malayan Plaza as the hotel launched its Valentine’s Day activities for its guests and residents.
With the aim to cater not just to couples but also to families and groups, the hotel held a face painting session at the hotel lobby from 11 AM to 2 PM. A photobooth was also set up for those who want to have a memento of this love-filled day.
Come 8 PM, a Valentine Dinner was held at the Executive Lounge at the 33rd floor. Guests who availed tickets to this dinner date were treated to a four-course menu and romantic live music.
To usher in the 2019 Year of the Earth Pig, The Malayan Plaza held fun events last February 4 for its residents and guests.
Starting off the festivities in the morning was a Dragon and Lion Dance at the hotel lobby. The dance symbolizes warding off evil spirits and welcoming good fortune and happiness for the year. Come afternoon, feng shui expert Ara Manalili held a Feng Shui Talk to discuss how to attract good luck during the Year of the Pig.
And for the whole day of February 4 to 5, guests and residents were invited to write and hang their wishes on the Wishing Tree at the lobby, in the hopes that these come true in 2019.

Next is the Make A Wish event from February 4 to 5, wherein guests and residents may write their wishes for the year and hang them on the wishing tree at the hotel lobby.

To welcome 2019, The Malayan Plaza held a New Year Countdown for hotel guests and residents last December 31, 2018 at the 33rd floor. Attendees were treated to free-flowing drinks and pica-pica during the event.
The party was hosted by Nikki Viola while vocalist Marah de Peiro dished out catchy ditties prior to ringing in the New Year.
The Malayan Plaza pulled out all the stops to make Christmas the most wonderful time of the year, especially for kids. On Christmas Day, the hotel lobby became a venue for fun and magic as children were treated to a magic show, face painting session, and a meet and greet with Santa Claus.
Gifts and prizes were given to kids who attended the Christmas Day program, while their parents checked the yummy pastries sold at the Christmas Goodies booth.

Enchanting holiday melodies of the kids’ choir of Children’s Joy Foundation, Inc. filled the air as they sang a repertoire of Christmas carols late in the afternoon of December 13. Meanwhile, violinist Lee Leonardo serenaded guests with songs of the Yuletide Season last December 16. Both performances are part of The Malayan Plaza’s #PaskongPaskoSaMalayanPlaza campaign, which aims to spread Christmas cheer to its guests and patrons.
December 3 was a big day at The Malayan Plaza as the hotel launches its Christmas campaign, #PaskongPaskoSaMalayanPlaza. Highlights of the day included the opening of the Christmas Delicacies booth, Santa Claus appearance, and performances from violinist Kevin Kent Cezar and singer Lance Raymundo.
The Malayan Plaza kicks off its month-long Christmas celebration with “Yuletide Treats,” a morning of music, food, and fun.
Witness the opening of the Christmas Goodies Booth where guests can sample and buy delicious pastries from the hotel’s very own kitchen. Violinist Kevin Kent Cezar plays timeless Yuletide anthems while special guest Lance Raymundo gives the audience a taste of his latest single, an upbeat version of “Silent Night.”
To further promote the spirit of giving, the hotel puts up a booth for Save the Children Philippines, an independent children’s organization, on December 3 for guests who wish to help and support Filipino children in need.

It was a night of music and fun as The Malayan Plaza held an Open Mic event last November 9, 2018 at the Executive Lounge. Guests enjoyed as they ate, drank, and took turns in singing their favorite tunes during this one-night special.

With an updated look and fresh items on the menu, the Executive Lounge is ready to welcome guests anew. And to coincide with the revamp of The Malayan Plaza’s on-site dining venue, select lifestyle and food bloggers were treated to a lavish night featuring a 5-course meal by Chef Aldrin Gamulo.
For starters, the attendees relished a plate of Quesillo con Tomate, Chorizo Pamplona and Manchego, Adobar con Carne, and Tuna Tartare. For soup, they had Salmojero and then Watermelon & Greens in Balsamic Glaze for the salad. The main entrée consisted of Almejas, Mejillones con Escabeche; Talakitok con Misono; Callos; and Shitake Wagyu Bar. Capping off the dinner were servings of Arte de Remo and Bourbon Plate. Each dish was paired with cocktails and drinks that complemented the flavors of each food.
The dishes prepared during the event are just some of the menu items that all guests of The Malayan Plaza can also enjoy.
